Prior to looking for your tractor, make certain that you know what you truly want. This might appear too simple, but it is easy to become side tracked and acquire something which you did not start out to find. Factory original tires may be difficult to buy and reproduction tires might cost more than the tractor. You may discover that rather than buying a project tractor, it would be just as enjoyable to procure one which someone else has previously put all of the effort, expense and time into. Chances are favorable that you could buy it for less cash than the owner put into it, to say nothing about all of his labor.
Try any tractor before you acquire it. Do you find it easy to get started and look, sound and feel right? Are the tires in good shape? Is there any hydraulic leakage evident? Do you observe any missing parts or accessories? Make certain and give equally close an inspection to any attachments. Last but not least, make sure that a classic tractor really fits the needs of the job you want it for. It is difficult to go wrong with an antique tractor such as a John Deere if you search cautiously.
