Old John Deere Tractor Shows
For many people, collecting tractors is more than a hobby. It is a passion that fills their waking hours. If they are not looking for a new addition to their collection they are restoring one they currently own and if they're too busy making a living to do that, they are at least thinking about vintage tractors or other antique farm equipment.
Most collectors have at least one antique John Deere in their collection. They are a real part of American history and helped open up much of the country to settlement. The tractors and other farm implements of by-gone times have been replaced by newer John Deere models for work but they will never be replaced in our memories.
There is nothing quite like the sight of a restored John Deere tractor strutting its stuff at farm or vintage equipment show. These shows attract thousands of people every year from all across the country. For many they are the one "must do" vacation trip. They are places where you can be sure to find other folks who are passionate about vintage farm equipment. Old friends get together and new friends meet to share in their hobby.
A lot of people travel long distances to enjoy the companionship of the shows, but you don't have to. There are probably antique tractor and other vintage farm equipment shows close to where you live. You can find one close to you by simply searching online. Try searches for "used tractors", "vintage tractors" and "old tractors" as well as "antique tractor shows".
Many dealers in antique tractors and tractor parts attend these shows and have equipment on display to purchase so be sure to search those terms too and anything else that might be of interest to you. The shows are great places to find that part you need to finish that tractor project you've been working on for years, too.
You don't have to actually own an old tractor or any other farm equipment to enjoy everything these shows offer. You not only get to see all of the great antique John Deere tractors and equipment but also a lot of fun events like tractor pulls, demonstrations of all kinds and lots of entertainment.
It is not just a lot of antique tractors at these shows. They also show farm equipment that goes back many years. Horse, steam, diesel and gasoline powered implements of all kinds are on display, many of them in working condition doing the farm work they were designed to do. There are also static exhibitions of old tractor engines. These are fun as you can see the advances made in the machinery over the years from the simple tractor engines to the extremely advanced, powerful and efficient tractor engines of today.
Used John Deere tractor parts and complete used tractors are also for sale at the shows. This makes them a great place to start if you're getting the collecting bug. Taking in an antique tractor show is a wonderful way to share in the history and romance of agricultural equipment development.
