Where can I find a resale value for a John Deere STX 38 lawn tractor purchased in 1993?

I would either get on a John Deere web site use google or try to find some similar models on Craigs List in your area.

Resale on your STX 38 w/ bagger and cart is about $300.00. The trade in value is even less. The STX series lawn tractors where the cheap of the cheap when they came out. Honest to god the hood costs more than the whole unit. If you don’t want to take my word for it go to your nearest Deere dealer and ask a salesman.
